Good with pneumatic nailer

Worked great in a pneumatic flooring nailer (the kind you use with an air compressor and hit with a mallet). We installed 3/4" solid oak hardwood. We went through 5 boxes and no jams. My only complaint is that one of the boxes had longer strips than the others. They were too long for the cleat slot in the nailer so we had to break off an inch or two so they'd fit in the slot. All they other boxes had strip lengths that popped right in.

Bad Quality

The box shipped to us not packaged well, all the nails were loose out of box, and looked like they had been used, had a hard time fitting in floor nailer, very disappointed in quality

Great when properly packaged

No split toungs. Easy to drive home if the nailer was not hit properly. The floor doesn't squeak.First set arrived broken into tiny pieces. Amazon replaced it the next day with a better packed box!

good quality at less price! happy customer

WORKED like a champ, hardly any wasted ones - make sure a drop of oil goes into the nailer after 5 boxes and life is good why pay for the brand name

Nails v. Staples explained.

Don't use staples for wood flooring. They hold too good and can't recover from upsets. The cleats on these offer several advantages. First off, youcan get a board up without busting it. This is handy because some combinaions don't work--you TOO will have to do it and the board can be cut and reused somewhere else. Staples will bust the board and then you'll have to pull them or drive them down. I studied this topic for a long while on flooring websites. Also, if you get water damage, the boards may lift a bit and you can re-set the boards when they dry out. It doesn't work all the time, but it never works with staples. If I get a squeaky spot, I nail right through the face and the nail goes out of sight. I might fill in the tiny divot it leaves. Or maybe not.I used these in the cheap NuMax nailer Amazon sells and had maybe 5 jams for the entire floor. Cheaper than a rental and I don't have to rush.We were nailing 1" clear 1/4 sawn hemlock flooring I got from Portland, Or. Beautiful 10" planks. I'll put in a picture when it's all stained. Won't be long before this quality of wood is not available.

Not sure QC is all that good

I used these nails to install 500 sqft of 3/4" hardwood flooring and for the most part they worked fine. However, three or four rows of nails would not fire out of the gun. After several calls to the nailer manufacturer to try and find out why the gun would not work they gave up and said to try new nails. As soon as I did, everything worked fine. That was repeated all four times. As a result, I lost at least three hours of work time because of poor quality control.

Great Floor Nailer!

This floor nailer works great! I used it to put down oak hardwood in our den and it worked flawlessly. I didn’t have any jams and when a nail didn’t land properly, it was because I didn’t hit the trigger solidly with the hammer (user error). The trigger is also pretty light so you don’t have to hammer with too much force to drive the nail. I’m really glad I bought the Freeman. It’s a great value.

Do these cleats work with the PCN 65 nailer?

Freeman Tools

No. These cleats do not work with PCN65 Nailer. PCN65 is a coil nailer.
